Thales today announced that its Datacryptor® Advanced
Performance (AP) E3 / T3 High-Speed Link Encryptor will begin shipping
to U.S. Government customers throughout the globe next month.
The deployment of the Datacryptor AP E3 / T3 High-Speed Link
Encryptor comes after extensive customer testing and validation. Under
the deployment plan, the units will begin to secure significant numbers
of unclassified circuits provisioned by the U.S. Government in North America,
Europe, and Asia. This worldwide network now secured by the Datacryptor
AP E3/T3, provides a wide-range of information services to U.S. Department
of Defense users, including voice telephony, formal messaging, data networking
and video applications.
With few high speed link encryption devices available in the
market, the Datacryptor AP E3 / T3 delivers wire-speed encrypted data
transfer at rates from 34 to 45 Mbps, together with the easy to use centralized
management application, Element Manager, which is common across the Datacryptor
range. Element Manager enables single-point monitoring with secure control
of the entire Datacryptor family of encryptors in a customers' network
infrastructure, thereby reducing the total initial investment and recurring
training costs.
“ Thales understands the Government's need
to secure SBU data and the tremendous efficiencies achieved by using
robust Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products. The Datacryptor AP E3
/ T3 fulfils this critical need and provides Government and commercial customers
with proven certified cryptography that is easy to deploy, easy to monitor,
and easy to maintain,” said
Cindy Provin, President of the e-Security activities of Thales in the
Americas .
With over 20 years of experience in the design and implementation
of secure, robust, and independently certified cryptographic solutions,
Thales continues to address the network privacy and information assurance
needs of nation's critical infrastructure. Thales' Datacryptor ® AP
E3 / T3 platform has been designed to the highest commercial standards
to protect sensitive networks such as those used by the U.S. Government
throughout the globe. Centralized remote management capabilities, approved
cryptographic algorithms such as 3DES and AES, provide unparallel security
for Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) data without the unnecessary overheads
and costs associated with Type 1 encryption solutions. The product's
ability to support both AC and DC power provides unmatched deployment options
in fixed-plant, field and shipboard environments.
